The Christ Child Society of Baltimore, Maryland (CCSB) is a non-profit group of volunteers dedicated to family and child welfare, who try to meet the contemporary needs of children and families in the Baltimore community in practical ways. CCSB does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, gender, national or ethnic origin, religion or non affiliation in the administration of their programs, or their mission.

Since 2012 CCSB has collected and donated over 119,257 new and gently used books, and given over 555 layettes to children and families in the Baltimore area.

Basic Needs Support

We found there are many existing organizations in the area in need of volunteers as well as resources, so we have chosen to augment the work of those organizations rather than create another service entity.

You can help! Here are just some of the ways:

  • Reading monthly to pre-k and kindergarten students at a school;

  • Collecting, sorting and distributing new and gently-used books to our organizations;

  • Cooking a casserole at home, once a month, for soup kitchens
  • Organizing and developing Wellness program resources for schools;
  • Gaining donations and assembling items for layettes and school supplies;

  • Knitting items for our various groups (baby items, scarves, hats, mittens,);
  • Attending our quarterly update meetings;

  • Making a donation that will go directly to our groups.
